Cead Mile Failte

The Divers and their extended family offer a hearty céad míle fáilte to the Bains and their extended family on their summer visit to Ireland, Donegal and in particular to Ramelton. We sincerely hope that you all enjoy your visit and experience first-hand the hospitality of Ireland and its people.

Although both families have been separated by thousands of miles in geographical terms, we do have close spiritual bonds and a common heritage dating back many centuries.

Although contact down through the decades has been maintained mainly by telephone and letters, there has seldom been an opportunity for both families to meet in person as a collective group. A number of the Bain family have visited Donegal over the years including Jean Berg, who visited Ramelton with her friend Judy in 1975 and has returned on a regular basis since. In addition, Mary McGroary spent a year in Canada with Jean and Clinton in 1977. Both Jean and Mary have been particularly effective at keeping close contact over the years and they both deserve a lot of credit for bringing about this visit.

We all look forward to this opportunity to renew acquaintances with members of each other’s family, and indeed to meet some for the very first time.

We hope that this visit will be an ideal opportunity for everyone to enjoy each other’s company, scenery, food & drink and experience some traditional Irish ‘craic’ in a relaxed environment.
